$70M Series C: Just Getting Started
We’ve just raised our $70M Series C, bringing total funding to $120M.
We started Nabla 6 years ago. A few ex-Meta AI Research engineers (we sold our 1st AI startup to Nuance, the 2nd to Facebook), one crazy idea: help clinicians with real work, not flashy demos.
To identify their problems, we ran our own digital clinic, hired 50 doctors, observed them, and set out to build the AI assistant they needed. Bottom-up, real patients, real workflows.
By early 2023 word got out, and doctors outside Nabla started asking if they could use it—so we opened it up to everyone.

Fast forward to today:
- Nabla’s Ambient AI is used by 85,000 clinicians across more than 130 healthcare organizations from rural hospitals to academic medical centers, FQHCs, and national providers: University of Iowa, Denver Health, CVS Health...
- Live ARR grew 5× in 6 months (yes, live—don't get me started on the "contracted" kind)
- We have the best integrations with Epic and 20+ EHRs
- We remained lean. 60% of our team is engineering. 1 person does marketing. (Hi 👋)
What makes Nabla different?
Two years ago, every "medical scribe" demo would get a standing ovation. Today, clinicians' expectations have dramatically increased. The days of "one size fits all" and "just copy-paste—it's not integrated" are over. What clinicians want is:
- Support for complex workflows beyond documentation, like orders, nursing, pre-charting, coding, clinical decision, and more
- Deep customization: every organization, every specialty, every clinician is different
- Integrations with hundreds of EHRs and legacy tools—some of these systems still run on COBOL, and don't even have APIs
So we’re building something ambitious: an agentic platform for healthcare.
It lets clinicians and organizations:
- Deeply personalize Nabla's core solutions in clinical documentation, medical coding, at-cursor dictation
- Extend Nabla's AI assistant with their own agents to automate their workflows while leveraging Nabla's core solutions and infrastructure: medical reasoning, encounter structuring, context awareness, clinical coding, agentic integrations, models monitoring and evaluation, and more
Need a post-encounter agent built for your department that talks to 3 legacy tools and pulls labs from an API-less system? Included.
Moving fast… without breaking things
Clinicians love to move fast, but with strong safeguards. The key to our success so far has been offering the most flexible and personalizable ambient AI assistant without compromising accuracy, privacy, and reliability.
As we expand towards a more open and powerful AI assistant, we also improve our platform to measure, monitor, and evaluate models and agents, with some of these evaluations relying on (human) medical experts and non-LLM technologies. We're also one of the first companies to have issued a CHAI "Applied Model Card" designed to bring clearer understanding of what's happening behind the scene of our healthcare AI models.
Our mission: bring agentic AI to clinicians in a safe, compliant, and ethical framework.
